About this site - technical
We have tried to keep the site as technically simple as possible. It is best viewed on a 17" / 43cm CRT screen or a 15" / 38cm TFT screen at resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. It will work on smaller sized screens but you may find that the main links at the top of each page become a bit squashed.
The site has been tested on MS Internet Explorer 5, Netscape 6 and Opera 7. It should work with these or later versions.
We have not yet been able to test the site on a Mac - so apologies to any users who may experience problems on that platform.
About this site - abbreviations on our family trees
On the trees that we produce we have used the Chapman County Codes to identify locations in the United Kingdom, the state postal codes for the USA and similar systems for Canada and Australia. The codes used can be found in the Image gallery at the bottom of the page.
The Abbreviations used for the main countries are hopefully, self-explanatory:
ENG : England
SCT : Scotland
USA : United States of America
CAN : Canada
AUS : Australia
For life events we have used the following abbreviations:
b : birth
c: christening or baptism
m : marriage
d : death
bu : burial
