News 2007 We now have copies of all the certificates for marriages for English branch members which were registered in England between July 1837 and December 1899 and which we recorded in our search of the registers. Unfortunately, this does not mean that we have certificates for all the marriages . For various reasons some marriages were not registered and some were registered, but the entries did not reach the national register. In addition, we may have accidentially missed some in our search. There is little that we can do about the first two sets of ommissons, but we have started checking the registers again to make sure that we did not miss any in our search. If we did then we will get copies of the missing ones too. Census entries for English branches (11.2007) We have searched the censuses for 1841 to 1901 to try to match up people known to be alive at each census with census entries. We used the Nottinghamshire Family History Society indices and the ancestry.com indices so hopefully there is a good coverage. It has not been possible to find everyone each year, but we have managed to find more people than we originally had and it has been possible to add some extra people to the trees. We also found seven people in the 1841 census and three in the 1851 census who we have not been able to match to known people. Street map of Westhorpe, Southwell (11.02.2007) We have added a plan of the area of Soutwell where members of the Southwell branches lived - Street map - Westhorpe - Southwell. Steet map and old post card of Basford (01.04.2007) We have added a plan and post card of the area of Basford where members of the Basford branch lived - Old post card - Old Basford and Street map - Old Basford. |
