The county of
Nottinghamshire is located near to the centre of England. The principal
settlements are the city of Nottingham, in the south, and the towns of
Sutton-in-Ashfield, Mansfield and Worksop - close to the western border
with Derbyshire. The river Trent flows from south of Nottingham to the
extreme north eastern corner of the county before reaching the Humber
and the sea. The county is famous for Sherwood Forest and Robin Hood,
Boots the chemist, Players' cigarettes, Raleigh bicyles, lace &
coal.
