New Radford
New Radford grew up on the eastern edge of the parish of Radford from the late 1790s. For a short while its development helped to relieve congestion in Nottingham caused by restrictions on the town's growth due to land ownership issues. The map shows Nottingham (centre right of image) and New Radford (in the red circle) in 1835. The expanding city eventually absorbed New Radford and Old Radford.
